Crowds were left dismayed on Monday morning following the announcement that Thurles Harvest and Country Festival was forced to cancel at short notice due to a power outage.
The event was forced to reschedule after a major ESB outage at the venue leaving it without power. The event had been due to raise money for several local charities including Thurles Halloween Arts Festival, Cameo Care, Mo Chara Animal Rescue and the Peter McKay Wee Peters Heart fund.
Many musical acts had been lined up to perform at the event including Trudi Lawlor, Barry Kirwan and Crystal Swing. A dog show, army parachute display, food and craft stalls, vintage machinery and strongman competition were also set to feature at the event.
However committee member Jim Ryan said the event could not go ahead without power and organisers were left with no option but to cancel the event. The committee are now looking to reschedule the festival.
