Tipperary farm and garage hit by thieves who leave €13,000 trail of destruction

Thieves have left a trail of destruction across North Tipperary in the past week, causing losses and damages of over €13,000 in total.

A farmer in Lorrha had €8,500 worth of farming equipment and tools taken in a robbery last Wednesday. Among the items stolen was a generator and a water tank.

Meanwhile, thieves caused €4,800 worth of damage to four new Mazda cars at Ryan and Burns Garage, Dublin Road, Nenagh, last Wednesday when the windows were broken and the wheels stolen.

On the same date a theft at Lackamore, Portroe, left a property owner at a loss of €880 when the rear window of his vehicle was smashed in order to steal a consaw and chainsaw that were in the vehicle.

There was a close call in Ardarra in the village of Portroe in the early hours of Tuesday of last week when an attempt was made to steal a trailer from outside the home of its owner.

The man heard noise at 4.55am and observed the occupants of a silver Audi interfering with the trailer. They fled after spotting him.
