Beer Festival to run in conjunction with Thurles Sports Fest in July

Thurles Sports Fest, which is to run in the Cathedral Town from July 2nd -9th has added a new initiative to the ever expanding programme, with a beer festival set to entertain visitors and participants in the local pubs of the town.

The idea is the brainchild of local publican Kieran Linnane and has gotten the support of the vintners as well as the organisers of the Sports Fest which continues to grow and grow and is sure to be a big hit in Thurles agian this year - it is hoped that Munster senior hurling final will be staged in Semple Stadium also to help make the festival even more special.

The idea of the beer festival is to provide craft beer complimented by quality local produce for the participating teams, visitors and the people of Thurles. Craft Beer specific to individual establishments will be available and there is a real demand in the country at the present time for craft beer. Tipperary has a very strong craft beer industry at the present time and these beers and many more, will be available locally to help bring a more diverse range to the drinking pallet.

There will be music and song in the town for the Festival week and the hope is that all the competing teams will mix and mingle, sample what Thurles and its surrounds has to offer and enjoy a really great festival right in the heart of Tipperary.

This will be a very complete festival featuring sport, music, song, cultural and social events to bring people home for the Munster Final.

What is not to love about this event craft beer, local produce and great music - it’s all happening in Thurles with the Thurles Sports Fest running from July 1st to July 9th.

The hard working local committee are very busy at the present time making all the arrangements and with so much jam-packed into the week including sports of all kinds and now the additional events, the pressure is on to deliver. With only four weeks to go to the opening of the festival it's all hands ot the pump at the present time and the committee would be delighted with any help which could be forthcoming from members of the general public. There is always plenty to be done, so no matter what your talents, you would be welcome with open arms.

Why not get involved by volunteering your services - anything you can do would be appreciated.
