Local Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes has announced that Clerihan Community Council are to receive J105,000 in funding for a new community playground in the area.

This news comes following applications and discussions with South Tipperary Development Company as well as Minister Phil Hogan and the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.

“Today’s news is fantastic for the entire Clerihan community following all the hard work done by the Community Council. This funding of J105,000 will go a long way in delivering what is a state of the art playground for children of all ages and abilities in the local area.

“The proposal put forward was extremely detailed and outlined a playground that will cater for children young and old, as well as areas specifically designed for children with special needs. It was one of the strongest applications I had ever seen and I was more than happy to offer my support.

“I want to congratulate the Community Council and all their volunteers for all their hard work. I wish them all the best as they begin the construction phase of this project” Tom Hayes said.
