Cashel King Cormac’s GAA Club

Senior Hurling

Senior Hurling

In an important game for both sides, this encounter never lived up to expectations with a draw, earned late on by Golden a disappointing result for both clubs. Cashel had put themselves into the lead late on and looked the more likely winners but poor discipline was to prove Cashels undoing conceding a late 21metre free, which was finished to the net. This result means Cashel lay at the foot of the table with two games to play, two victories would see Cashel possibly into a semi final, one victory would see us depending on results elsewhere in the alter rounds. There is plenty to play for still, but plenty of improvement is required as we face Clonoulty next Monday.

Minor B Football

Our Minor footballers got back on track in the West Minor B Championship with a last gasp victory over Kickams. The team certainly banished their lacklustre display against Rockwell/Rosegreen the week previous with a gutsy and vastly improved performance. The game turned on its head when Martin Browne converted a penalty albeit from the rebound, the initial shot coming back off the post. The lads held firm in the closing stages as Kickams tried hard to salvage something from the game, but with Thomas Grogan, Brian Fitzpatrick, Adam Kennedy, Conor Devitt in top form in defence, Cashel held on to claim the win and put them back in contention. Next up is Cappawhite in Leahy park on Wednesday May 01st.

Juvenile

On Thursday the 25th, Sean Treacys were the visitors to Leahy park, for the U12 C Football quarter final. Our boys kept plugging away and when TJ Barron goaled there was plenty of hope as the first half came to a close. The second half saw Cashel lift their efforts even more, but this hard work was undone by the concession of some very soft goals. Daniel Moloney did manage to convert a point, but Sean Treacys were just too strong and were worthy winners. This game now brings the curtain down on the football for this group for the season. A special thanks to all the players and parents for their time, support and efforts. Skerries of Dublin will visit Cashel KC next Sunday May 05th for U10 and U12 Challenge games with times of games to be confirmed. Training continues Saturday morning and Monday evenings 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
