SHC Portroe 1-14 Moneygall 0-17

Champions Portroe needed a John Sheedy injury time free to help his team claim a share of the points in an exciting Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Champions Group 3 Round 3 clash at Dolla last Sunday afternoon.

The Portroe corner forward needed all his composure to level after he watched Moneygall come from four points in arrears to power though seven minutes of extra time and almost steal the win.

The champions lined out as per usual but Moneygall were without the injured Paddy Fanning as well as the exam tied Pat Teehan and Liam Carroll, but they began brightly when Phil Fanning and Willie Greene had points on the board within two and a half minutes.

But Portroe responded well when John Sheedy goaled after five minutes after a sideline ball from Kevin O’Halloran came back off the upright and the Moneygall defence were slack in covering up.

Sheedy added a point but Michael Ryan had a reply for Moneygall in the seventh minute.
