This game between Solohead/Treacys and Galtee Rovers, in the under-21 B football championship played at Cappawhite on Saturday evening, was a fine game of football. The game was very close in the first half at the end of which Galtee led by 1-2 to 0-4, the goal coming from full-forward, Naill Daly. Five minutes into the second half Galtee corner-back, Peter Carroll, was red-carded and this had an impact on the game. The loss of a player put pressure on Galtee and they conceded a lot of frees. Five of the Combo’s scores scores came from placed balls and they had two points to spare, on a scoreline of 0-9 to 1-4, at the final whistle.
