NSHC Toome win an entertaining play-off clash with Lorrha

Toomevara 2-17 Lorrha 1-11

Toomevara 2-17 Lorrha 1-11

Toomevara pulled away in the last quarter to deny an improved Lorrha side when the sides met in an entertaining play-off game at MacDonagh Park last Sunday evening.

The nine point win was no more than Toome deserved. Trailing by a point at half time after playing with a stiff breeze they looked well in trouble against a very determined and cohesive Lorrha side. The introduction of a fit again Joey McLoughney in the 37th minute was to play its part in the Toome revival but it remained neck and neck by the 44th minute before a Ken Dunne free followed by fortuitous John O’Brien goal saw a four point advantage appear.
