All roads lead to Carrick-on-Suir this Friday, May 17th where there is a hurling feast consisting of a double bill featuring Tipperary and Waterford county teams as part of the Maurice Davin Festivities.
The first match is between the Tipperary and Waterford under-21 teams which starts at 6pm sharp. This is followed by a senior match between Tipperary and Waterford at 7.30pm.
The Carrick-on-Suir Republican Flute Band will provide entertainment and parade the players at the matches and match programmes will be available on the night.
Patrons and supports are advised to travel early as huge crowds are expected with both managers committed to fielding full-strength teams. Free match parking will be available at the Mart in John’s Street, The Tannery Business Park, Greystone’s Street and on the Clonmel Road.
Admission prices are - adults E10, students and OAP E5 and under-16 free. All proceeds go towards the Maurice Davin Memorial Fund.
Mick Mackey Commemoration
The of unveiling a statue in honour of former Limerick hurler Mick Mackey will take place in his native village of Castleconnell on May 19th at 12.30pm.
The guest of honour on the day will be Úchtarán CLG Mr Liam O’Neill who will perform the unveiling. The legendary broadcaster Micheal OMuircheartaigh will also be in attendance and will say a few words of tribute.

U10: On 4th May in the county pitch our U10’s took part in a Go Game blitz. We took part in three games and the girls played impressive against some stiff competition. We gained some valuable experience.
It was the first competitive game for some of our girls and they enjoyed the experience. Plenty of training and practise will improve performances so keep up the good work.
U12: Congratulations to our U12’s who came out on top of their league group last Thursday with a thrilling display of hurling against Roscrea.
Training times - U8, U10 & u12’S – 10am to 11am Saturdays. U14’s 11am to 12noon. U14, U16 Minors & Juniors – 6pm to 7pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
