There was two games played last weekend in the U21 A Football championship. On Friday night in Templetuohy Thurles Sarsfields defeated Moyne – Templetuohy Og by 2-9 to 0-06 in the losers Group. On Saturday in Templemore JK Brackens defeated Holycross – Ballycahill by 0-16 to 0-03. Sarsfields and Brackens will now face each other in the losers Group final, and the winners of this game will join Loughmore, Drom & Moycarkey in the semi – finals. Hurling Challenge Cup
There was a number of games in Rd 1 of the County Senior Hurling Challenge Cup played last weekend and it was a good start to the competition for our clubs in the Mid Division with wins for Sarsfields, Moycarkey, Upperchurch, Brackens, Holycross and Loughmore.
Clonakenny, Thurles Gaels and Moyne – Templetuohy got their campaigns off to a successful start in Rd I games played last weekend.
Third Level Colleges
Congratulations to LIT Tipperary and St. Patrick’s College Thurles who captured All-Ireland 3rd level colleges hurling titles last weekend. In the Ryan Cup, LIT Tipperary defeated IT Tralee by 1-24 to 2-9, and in the Fergal Meagher Cup, St. Patrick’s College Thurles defeated St. Mary’s Belfast by 4-19 to 1-7.
In the Fitzgibbon Cup UCC retained their title defeating Mary Immaculate College Limerick, in the final. Congratulations to Stephen Maher (Thurles Sarsfields), Bobby Bergin (Clonakenny), Liam Butler (Moyne Templetuohy), James Barry (Upperchurch Drombane), and Pat Lupton (Drom and Inch) who were members of the panel.
Tonight in the Dome commencing at 7.30 pm there is an information night for Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers and PRO’s of senior and juvenile clubs. This Information night will be hosted by Croke Park and Munster Council personnel with special guest speakers in attendance. We encourage all club officers in the Division to attend.

A reminder that Tipperary Coaching and Games Development are hosting a seminar entitled - Preparing the Adult Club Team – “The Games Based Approach” on Saturday 9th March in Thurles Sarsfields GAA Club. In this Seminar topics directly related to preparing the adult club player will be discussed.
Eamonn O’Shea and Paudie O’Neill will be among a full panel of speakers who will be in attendance on the day. Clubs are invited to send Adult Club Managers and Coaches i.e. from U21 to adult. The conference will commence at 9.45 a.m. and participants are asked to be present for 9.30 a.m. A fee of E50 per club will apply to cover cost. Completed Registration Forms to be returned to Dinny Maher, County Games Manager, Lar na Pairce, Slievenamon Road, Thurles.
Congratulations to Padraic Maher, Thurles Sarsfields who has been selected for a 2012 AIB Provincial Player Award.
Padraic is a deserving winner of this award as he was outstanding for Thurles Sarsfields in all their games and was an inspirational captain in leading Sarsfields to their first ever Munster club championship title.
Padraic received his award last night in the Radisson Blue Hotel in Stillorgan at a reception hosted by AIB.
Congratulations to Our Lady’s Templemore Junior B camogie team who defeated Holy Rosary College Mountbellew in the All Ireland semi – final. This was a great win for the school. Well done to all involved.
