A most welcome success this for Moyne-Templetuohy at the close of a season that had not yielded any honours up to now, as their under 21 hurlers were comfortable winners over Gortanhoe-Glengoole in the Eddie Joe’s Mid under 21 B hurling final at Templemore on Saturday.

While giving due credit to Gortnahoe-Glengoole for a battling performance, the six points winning margin does not fully reflect the superiority of the new champions who started slowly, but once into their stride, dominated for extensive periods in both halves.

Two first half goals, one after four minutes and the other approaching the break, kept Gortnahoe-Glengoole in the hunt in the first half at the end of which Moyne led 0-12 to 2-4, but the twelve scores to six was a more accurate representation of the balance of play.
