Tipperary travelled to Dr. Hyde Park the home of Roscommon football for the later throw in time of 7, o clock. Roscommon were fastest out of the blocks and raced into a four point lead. Tipperary soon settled and thanks to an Edel Hanly goal were one point up at the break. Half time score Tipperary 1-9 Roscommon 1-8. Tipperary were in complete control of the second half thanks to two more goals from the boot of Edel Hanly and Tipperary’s management could afford the luxury of introducing a full complement of subs before the end of the game. Scores for Tipperary Edel Hanly 3-5 from play plus 0-3 frees Jillian O Brien 0-4, Grainne O Gorman 0-1, Elaine Kennedy 0-1, and Orlaith Maher 0-1. Before the start of the game Tipperary would have known that Sligo had beaten Cavan 2-9 to 2-7 and so a win for them would guarantee a three way play off. Tipperary will play Cavan on Tues 21th Aug at 7, o clock at a venue to be arranged. Best of luck to the team and management. The winner of th is game will play Sligo on Saturday 25th at a half way venue.
