Adjourned Convention;

Hayes’ Hotel was the venue for the adjourned convention last Thursday night which saw new Chairman Joe O’Sullivan, start out his reign at the helm.

With quite a number of items on the agenda the main focus of the night centred on grading for the year. The chairman was fair to each club that presented its case for particular grade realignment and promised to evaluate each case with the secretary and subject to County Bórd approval; a full set of grading’s would hopefully be available at the next meeting of the Bórd.

With Peil and Féile not too far in the offing thoughts turned to provisional fixtures for these competitions. With five teams in Peil, it is envisaged to hold a quarter final on March 4th, with semi-finals and final on March 10th. It was decided to hold off on dates for Féile until the next meeting as a draw will have to be made and also by that time, county fixtures should be made available.

Secretary Sally Young, emphasised that all clubs must be fully compliant on e/mail now and have functional e/mail addresses in order, as the volume of work is such, with matches and meetings, that it is not feasible to e/mail out details and turn around and start making phone calls to those not in compliance. Lists of registrations for Premier U12’s, U14 and U16, she said, are also required and are to be forwarded to her as early as possible.
