In the Venue Dundrum sponsored Peil Na nOg final played in Golden on Wednesday evening last, Arravale Rvs captained by Cormac Maher, produced a big second half fight back to edge out Cashel KC with a six point winning margin victory.
Right from the throw in it was the defending champions Cashel who set the pace racing into an early lead with points by Rodrigo Concalves and Ross Bonnar and despite missing a number of good goal scoring opportunities continued to show the way adding three further points through Eoghan Connolly, Ryan O’Sullivan and Rodrigo for a first half tally of five points to Arravales solitary point from Cormac Maher.
Any hopes Cashel KC had of building on their first half advantage were dashed early in the second period and those first half missed chances would prove costly as Arravale Rvs struck with two early goals by Michael Sharpe and Jordan Doyle which put them firmly in the driving seat.
Holding their opponents scoreless for the remainder of the game Arravale went on to maintain the upper hand right to the finish increasing their lead with a point by Darren O’Dwyer and a second goal late in the game by Michael Sharpe sealed victory for Arravale Rvs.
For Cashel KC it was a case what might have been but for those wasted early chances and for Arravale Rovers a first Peil Na nOg West title in eight years which they last won in 2005. Final Score, Arravale Rvs 3-2 Cashel KC 0-5.

In the TSB sponsored U14B Football League final played in Cappawhite the Emly/Treacys combination put down a marker for this years championship running out the clear cut victors over Clonoulty/Rossmore by a fourteen point margin.
With only a point separating the sides at the end of the first half with the ‘Combo’ ahead on the scoreboard by 1-3 to Clonoulty/Rossmores 1-2, the winners led by their captain Paul O’Heney went on to add a further 3-5 without reply in the second half to finish deserving winners.
In a well contested opening period we had an early exchange of points before the ‘Combos’ Michael Feehan fired home the first goal after ten minutes which was quickly cancelled out by Clonoulty/Rossmores Cathal Bourke who found the net from a free.
Points by Conor Phibbs (2) and Michael Feehan (1) completed the Emly/Treacys first half scoring while Cathal Bourke accounted for his side’s tally of 1-2.
An explosive start to the second half by the ‘Combo’ saw them stamp their authority on the game and the introduction of Emlys Aidan O’Heney was to pay dividends with an early goal and with points to follow by Pat O’Toole, Aidan O’Heney and Dylan Farrelly, they never looked back.
Continuing to apply the pressure, Emlys Danny Cunningham found the net for his side’s third goal while Michael Feehan and Conor Phibbs were also on target with well taken points.
