Friday evening last saw the North Tipperary County executive meeting in Bobby Reidy’s, Newtown, Nenagh. Following the brief but engaging meeting the exciting business of the evening got under way. Up for grabs on the evening were the four Macra “personality” competitions.

Including Miss Macra, Miss Blue Jeans, Mr Personality and Queen of the Land. unlike in previous years where interviews would be given personally by a panel of judges this year the format was alot more entertaining.

On stage live and impromptu interviews would decide who would go on to represent the county at the national competitions.

Master of Ceremonies Bobby Reidy was on hand to keep the crowd entertained and draw out the contestants. Also on the night the judges included the guest judge and reigning Tipperary Rose, Lisa Hickey; who remarked that the night was a great eye opener and that macra is “such a great orginisation, full of smashing young people”. The county executive would like to thank Bobby Reidy for acting as MC, they would also like to thank Lisa Hickey and macra training officer Brigid Walsh for judging on the night.

The following will go on to represent North Tipperary in the Finals; in Miss Macra, Catherine Maher of Devilbit Club. In Miss Blue Jeans, Nora Ryan of the Nenagh Club and in Queen of the Land, Una Ryan of the Nenagh Club. And lastly Padraig Meade of Devilsbit will go on to represent the county in Mr Personality. Good Luck to them all. The forthcoming week will see Clodagh Macra hold a table quiz in the Clodagh Bar, Borrisoleigh on Friday March 1st at 9pm. All Clubs are urged to attend and non members are as always welcome on the night as well.
