Nenagh Meet and Train Running Group, set up by North Tipperary Sports Partnership in 2009 is a social / leisure running group designed to help beginners progress from walking to running a 5k and beyond. The group meets every Tuesday in the New Institute at 7.20pm for a warm-up and some core work, before running either a two-mile, three-mile or four-mile course, finishing with a cool down session. From early April, the group will move to the outdoor CBS track.

The objective of the group is to provide an opportunity for women of all ages and levels of fitness to get together to exercise with like minded people under the guidance of a qualified coach. Dedicated running coaches with this group, Maura Cleary and Noreen Nevin, are very experienced runners and coaches with Athletics Ireland coaching qualifications and will guide you through the session every step of the way. Maura is also a qualified Pilates instructor and physiotherapist.

Beginners are always welcome, and it is beginners that the group is looking for now. North Tipperary Sports Partnership supplies a hi-vis running vest for all regular participants.

There is no pressure on anyone to enter any events, and the social aspect is very important with many of our participants saying they look forward to meeting other people and having some time to themselves outside of the home and to get fit.
