On Friday (June 26th) we got a half day from school for our summer holidays –Hooray!
We raced home to pack our bags for our 2 day-3 night Beaver Camp in Lough Keel Roscommon. It was my sister Ciara’s first camp in a tent and she was excited. Daddy bought us sweets for a midnight feast (shhh!) and campfire snack. We had a long bus trip up to Roscommon. We stopped for McDonalds in Athlone and a play break in a park on the way. I sat beside Niamh Pyne and all the girls told jokes on the way. It was fun. We arrived and unpacked our stuff in the tents and played for a while. All the girls were in a tent together. Then the ice-cream van came which was cool! We had supper and went for a night hike with our torches which was a little scary. Then it was bedtime. All the girls stayed chatting in our sleeping bags till 1am! We woke up with a jump at 5 to 7 with Niamh as our alarm clock. The weather outside was gorgeous. We got ready and had breakfast and then we split into groups. I was in Deirdre’s team – woo hoo!
