The Thursday Beavers doing their Chief Scout Award recently completed their 10km Hike across the woods and bogs of Monahincha.
The Beavers had a great time despite some wet going in parts, stopping for their lunch in the shade of a couple of trees by the lake. We discovered exactly what a bog is first hand - or even foot - learning that though it may appear to be solid ground and look like it’s easy to stand or walk on...it actually isn’t!!!! A hearty thanks to Cathal McNicholas and Declan Ramsbottom for their help, guidance and assistance (not to mention their good humour) in this ‘Thursday Beavers have had an eventful few months recently.
