Suaimhneas Cancer Support Centre will host an exhibition in Nenagh library during February. The exhibition of art made by friends of Suaimhneas will be available to purchase.
“This exhibition is an opportunity to inform the public of the services we provide at the centre and also shows the courage and creativity of our clients who are willing to get out there to show the world their achievements,” said Anne Gleeson, director of services.
She said that art therapy was one of the many complementary therapies held at the centre and the group not only focuses on creativity and art alone but also encourages interaction and consensus and promotes healing through friendship and support for those going through challenging times.
The services provided are counselling, holistic and complementary therapies, mindfulness and art. The men’s support group meets on the first Monday of each month.
The exhibition at Nenagh library will be officially opened this Saturday, February 7, at 2pm.
