Top Prize Won In Daily Million Game

A lucky Tipperary man’s bank holiday weekend has got off to a flying start after picking up a cheque for a fantastic €1 million at National Lottery offices today.

The lucky winner, who wishes to remain private, won his prize in the Daily Million draw on Monday 27 May 2013. He bought his ticket in Aherne’s Newsagents on Abbey Road in Thurles, Co. Tipperary on the day of the draw. On Tuesday, he heard the news on Tipp FM that the €1 million winning prize ticket had been sold in the shop and quickly checked his ticket.

“I checked that ticket a good two or three times – I just couldn’t believe it. Now I’m actually here, it’s starting to hit me!” said the lucky new millionaire as he celebrated his big win with a glass of champagne.

Today’s winner said he needs a little time to get used to the great news before he decides how to spend his winnings.
