Thurles Fresh Milk Tipped For Award

Thurles Fresh Milk

Thurles Fresh Milk

THURLES Fresh Milk has beaten off stiff competition from hundreds of excellent Irish businesses in their bid to go for gold at this year’s National Q Mark Awards.

The prestigious nomination will see John Martin and Joe Kerrigan, the companies operations manager and CEO and their team at this year’s star-studded Q Mark ceremony on September 28th at Dublin’s Burlington Hotel.

At yesterday’s announcement of finalists at EIQA House in Dublin, the team from Thurles Fresh Milk were being tipped as being the hot contenders to win one of the most prestigious categories; The Q Mark Award for Quality Management Systems. The award honours businesses for their achievement in being recognised as having the highest standard of Quality and Excellence in the country.

Thurles Fresh Milk have been processing milk into a range of products for their Tipperary customers for over 50 years. Milk is collected from a small number of key milk suppliers within 12km of Thurles town, where their plant is located. This ensures that customers can be satisfied of the quality, freshness and sustainability of their products.

Aside from supporting their milk suppliers by paying the top price in the country for 2011, They provide significant financial support to the Tipperary GAA Academy which nurtures and supports young talent in the county. Indeed, the entire Centenary Thurles Co-Op group of companies has a keen sense of place and community and are deeply associated with many sporting and charitable works in the community.

On hearing of their nomination for what are known as the “Oscars” of business excellence, Joe Kerrigan said: “This nomination is just reward for the diligence and hard work of people who have striven for improvement and excellence in everything they do. Our milk suppliers also are to be congratulated on their ongoing commitment to quality improvement. This all contributes to maintaining a sustainable, local business.”

The Q Mark is recognised by a staggering 87 per cent of Irish consumers as guaranteeing us with services of the highest standards of quality and excellence, so we should be very proud to have Thurles Fresh Milk named in these prestigious awards, as it is a testament to the hard work and commitment they show us, their customers.

John, Joe and the team can be sure that we will be lending them our total support for the final in Dublin, on September 28, as we already consider them to be a real real Tipperary winner for being named among those at the top of The ‘Q’.
