Meanwhile, the group travelled to the Royal Ulster Agricultural Show at Balmoral, Belfast, recently. The show is held on the old Long Kesh site and the prison towers, though not accessible to the public, can be viewed clearly from a distance. The show was enjoyed by all as there was a vast display of everything agricultural and horticultural. The highlight of the day for two of our female members was when they met Ireland and Ulster rugby player, Rory Best! The group’s next outing is a social evening on Thursday June 12th with a cruise on the Shannon from Ballina followed by a meal at Gooser’s Restaurant.
