Tipperary producer receives accolade

One of Aldi’s Tipperary suppliers has won the top award in the Meat–Beef category for Aldi’s Specially Selected 28 Day Matured Irish Rib Roast on the Bone at the highly coveted 2016 Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards.

ABP Cahir received the accolade from a judging panel made up of leading food experts and critics. The Tipperary based supplier, which employs 635 people in Cahir, received the Highly Commended accolade for Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Angus 28 Day Matured Fillet Steak, Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Angus 30 Day Dry Aged Ribeye Steak and Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Angus 30 Day Dry Aged Striploin Steak.

Commenting on the success, Aldi Ireland’s Group Buying Director Finbar McCarthy said “Forging lasting relationships with local producers is extremely important to Aldi. The innovative and consistently excellent producers we work with from Tipperary makes this an easy task”.
