ICMSA honours Loughmore student Jack O'Meara for Young Scientist project

Loughmore's Jack O’Meara, a student at St Joseph’s, Borrisoleigh, received support from Tipperary ICMSA for his project on a method of recognising mastitis directly from the parlour as opposed to sending the milk to creameries for testing.

Jack’s project was awarded third prize in the Senior Individual Chemical & Physical Science Category and he accepted an invitation to attend the Tipperary ICMSA meeting in Hayes Arch Bar, Thurles, to receive the congratulations and best wishes of the members of the local executive.

Seamus Troy, chair of Tipp ICMSA, said that the the interest of brilliant youngsters such as Jack boded well for the Premier County’s critical food industry.

On behalf of local milk suppliers, he wished the fifth-tear student the very best for the future
