Coonan Welcomes 41 Tipperary School Building Projects

Mr. Noel Coonan TD said the Department of Education and Skills has approved 41 school building projects in County Tipperary since the beginning of 2012 and this is “testament to the Government’s dedication to helping schools who need resources.”

The local TD said: “Emergency works have been approved for 22 County Tipperary schools. These grants cover works such as roof repairs, sewerage works, facilities for Special Needs Pupils, electrical and mechanical works, health and safety works and structural projects.”

“Prefab replacement initiatives have been approved for five schools including Scoil Eoin Naofa, Boher NS, Ardfinnan NS, Grange NS and Scoil Mochaomhog Two-Mile-Borris.

“Alongside this, 14 schools across the county have benefited under the 2012 Additional Accommodation Scheme. This departmental funding will go towards mainstream classrooms, woodwork room, repairs to existing temporary classrooms, ASD Unit and resource room,” continued Deputy Coonan.

“Fine Gael in Government will continue to prioritise Tipperary projects and I will do all that I can as your elected representative to enhance our children’s educational needs,” concluded Deputy Coonan.
