St. Joseph’s PS & Bridin Jones Launch “Favourite Recipes”

Bridin with her Masterchef Class

Bridin with her Masterchef Class

On Tuesday 20th November 2012, St. Joseph’s was thrilled to welcome back past pupil and runner up of Masterchef 2011, Brídín Jones Carey! Brídin visited to see how our Recipe Book was progressing! She was indeed very impressed with our first draft and promised to send copies to the likes of Rachel Allen and Masterchef judges Nick Munier and Dylan McGrath!

Pupils from Junior Infants to 1st class entertained Brídín and her Mum, Bridget with songs such as Hot Potato and Fruit Salad! Brídín spoke very eloquently as she spoke to the pupils about her childhood memories of her love of cooking and how she always worked very hard to achieve her dreams. She took great time talking to the pupils and enjoyed hearing about many family favourites! St. Joseph’s pupils then treated Brídín to their rendition of “Food, Glorious Food”! All pupils and staff were delighted when Brídín produced baskets of homemade cookies and cakes for all!

We are very grateful that Brídín took time out of her busy schedule to visit St. Joseph’s and we are very honoured that she is associated with our Recipe Book. This Recipe Book will be on sale in time for Christmas from the school (Tel: 31141) or from any shops in the town. We know that this recipe book, packed with over 100 recipes will be a best seller this Christmas! We would like to thank all our families who very generously donated their favourite recipes. Proceeds of the book will go towards maintenance of I.T. in the school, continued stocking of our newly refurbished library and literacy & numeracy resources.
