North Tipp Macra have a ‘Blah’

The annual national conference of Macra na Feirme was held last weekend in Tower Hotel, Waterford. The conference or ‘rally’ as its more affectionately known is a weekend long event packed with activities.

No Macra rally would be compete without the finals of the ‘know your ag’ and bord bia beef and sheep stock judging which saw representatives of north tipp compete for titles.

But the rally is not all about competitions; the Saturday of the weekend saw several warm walks and a trip to an oyster farm. For those who were feeling a little more adventurous there were watersport activities in dunmore east adventure centre.

On Sunday the ‘great debate’ saw a thrilling debate from several former macra debating champions who entertained their captive audience.

The highlight of the weekend was the gala banquet with the keynote address given by Alan Quinlan. A great weekend was had by all delegates and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the organising committe for putting together an epic weekend and look forward to next years conference in Tullow, co. Carlow.
