LIT to upskill 132 people in new-tech sectors - send in your application now

Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) has been successful in securing funding to provide places for 132 people to access a range of programmes under Government initiatives to upskill unemployed people.

Under the Government Springboard and ICTSkills Initiatives LIT will be providing opportunities for people to complete programmes in Digital Manufacturing, Biopharmaceuticals, Software Development and Creative Multi-Media. Dr Maria Hinfelaar, President of LIT commented that: “LIT has been active under the Springboard and ICT Skills initiatives since their inception. This year we have been very focused in terms of our submissions and responded to the needs of industry. Our programmes reflect the demands from industry for skilled graduates in the areas of IT, Biopharmaceuticals and Manufacturing.” Applications for places on the programme are now open and people can apply directly via the central website www.springboardcourses.ie. Mr Seamus Hoyne, Head of Department for Flexible Learning at LIT, said: “LIT is committed to providing access to education for all and our Springboard and ICTSkills programmes are one mechanism for us to achieve this goal.
