Roscrea launches new Tourist Office

Roscrea town opened its first Tourist Information Centre on Castle Street on Monday and will be of huge benefit to the town.

Roscrea town opened its first Tourist Information Centre on Castle Street on Monday and will be of huge benefit to the town.

The Office was officially opened by Cllr Michael Smith who spearheaded the project. Speaking at the launch Cllr. Smith stated: “This offers the town a unique opportunity to grow and develop a sustainable tourism market, attracting visitors to the town. Roscrea has a proud and ancient history going back centuries and today we co ordinate various agencies and initiatives which are currently trying to push this area as a tourism town.” The office will open from 11 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday and will supply details on booking accommodation, places to eat and visit, routes to take, things to do and information on local events, as well as maps, guide books.
