Thousands took to the streets of Clonmel to protest against the imposition of water charges near the Main Guard. More protests are planned for Cashel and Tipperary town in the coming days.

Deputy Healy said: “Water charges are a deeply unfair and regressive form of taxation. They should have been abolished. I am determined to continue the campaign for their abolition until they are abolished. The allowances and tax credits are a pittance and hundreds of thousands will not even get those.”
