Solidus Private Equity, a Singapore-based investment company has welcomed the recent announcement by Amneal, the new owners of the former Cordis manufacturing site at Cashel, of its intentions to hire between 250 and 300 at the plant when fully operational.

Solidus Private Equity sold the plant to Amneal following a re-organisation of one of its portfolio companies. Paul Dillon, a Director at Solidus Private Equity acknowledged the key role played by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Mr. Alan Kelly TD, in facilitating the sale: “The former Irish Ambassador to Singapore, Mr. Joe Hayes, a native of Thurles arranged a meeting with Minister Kelly at his office in Leinster House in May. Since then we worked closely with the Minister to seek a purchaser committed to providing large scale, long term employment to the South East. Solidus is delighted that Amneal chose Cashel and hope that their operations in Tipperary can further contribute to Ireland’s strong economic recovery”.
