Cappawhite has been chosen as one of the groups to be followed on a weekly basis by the programme’s producers. Initially, the idea came from Dan Fitzgibbon, who organised a weekly weigh in” in the local Resource Centre. Saturday proved to be a highly successful day when all the local activity groups came together, including the G.A.A., Cappawhite Hillwalkers, Cappa Gym members, Cappawhite Athletic Club and pupils from Cappawhite N.S. “We were delighted to be involved in this community initiative” says Principal Alice Flynn. “It reinforces the ideals currently being promoted in the school, whereby all pupils participate in daily exercise. We are extremely fortunate to have a purpose built walking and athletics track in our school grounds.”
