Before Christmas all schools in the Roscrea area received Christmas themed colouring competitions from
Supermac’s & Papa John’s.
The prize for the winner was a ‘Make & Bake’ pizza session for their class. The entries were returned to the outlet and the difficult task of choosing a winner from each school began.
Once the winners were chosen the schools were contacted and the excited winners were informed. It was arranged that the winning student plus their class and teachers would visit the outlet on the 16th and 17th of February.
We hosted Scoil Iosef Naofa, Corville NS and Sacred Heart Primary School on the Monday and Dromakeenan National School, Scoil Muire, (St. Mary’s) NS Dunkerrin and Lismackin National School on the Tuesday.
Upon arrival the students were split into groups of four, and each was given an apron.
They were then shown how to make a pizza box and asked to write their name and group number on it.
Each group was then taken in turn to the dough station where they sanitized their hands and were then shown how to dock and spike their very own pizza base.
The pizza bases were then placed on a screen and carried on to the next station for saucing and cheesing.
Next up was the toppings station where the pupils had a choice from pepperoni, chicken, ham, peppers, sweetcorn and mushrooms. Each pupil could then pick and choose what toppings they would like.
Once the pizzas were topped they were placed back into the labelled boxes and brought down to the kitchen for cooking. (This process was repeated with ach group.) Once cooked the group’s pizzas were returned to them with a complementary Kiddies drink!
Should you have an interest in having a ‘Make & Bake’ for your child’s birthday or any event, it is available for €7.50 per child which includes making their very own 7” pizza, chips, kiddies drink and kids toy! Don’t hesitate to contact your local Papa John’s.
