Saying ‘Yes’ is the easy part, once you’ve become engaged the hard work begins. With family and friends all asking when and where is the big day? So the search begins for the perfect wedding venue....
For every couple the venue is one of the ways of reflecting your personal style. Whether you like contempory or traditional, the selection of venues is immense. In my experience most couples know if a venue is right for them from their first visit, immediately they feel comfortable in their surroundings and start to envisage their own big day!
All newly engaged couples looking for the perfect wedding venue should consider the following important factors:
Confidence: Do you have confidence in your wedding venue? A good connection between you and your wedding coordinator is integral. This is the person you have to liaise with over the coming months and years. Are you assured that they can arrange the biggest and most expensive party of your life?
Comfort: From intimate or larger lavish weddings it is extremely important that the function room size and shape accommodates your wedding party. Ask yourself is it in nice surroundings, is it spacious etc?
Catering: Choosing a venue that can provide a great meal, it’s a tougher task than you would imagine. Choose a venue with a good reputation for food and service. On the run up to the big day ensure to partake in a ‘wedding tasting of your chosen menu’ to ensure you are happy with your final choice!
Facilities: It is important to view these areas when you view every potential wedding venue. You need to consider all aspects of the hotel e.g. is the bar in the room, is it large enough to facilitate your wedding? Is the smoking area near the function room? Are the guest bedrooms to a good standard?
Photographs: Does your venue have picturesque areas to take photographs whatever the weather? Along with your memories, photographs of your special day are something you will cherish for years to come.
Every girl dreams about her wedding day and every man dreams about meeting his wife, so it’s important to consider all of the above points when choosing your wedding reception venue. Joanne O’Dwyer-Hicks. Sales and Marketing Manager @ Aherlow House Hotel and Lodges. E: email@example.com
