Thursday 30th June was another eventful day in the lives of people connected to Scoil Chrónáin Naofa,Dromakeenan with the launch of their book “Dromakeenan Through the Years”.

This book charts the history of the school since 1851 to the present day. The book, compiled by Ms Linda Higgins along with her Sixth Class pupils is a snapshot of events that have taken place in school and its surrounds over the aforementioned years. There are many articles included from pupils past and present and there are an abundance of photographs included.

Fr Tom Corbett in launching the book congratulated Ms Higgins and Sixth Class for their extensive work in putting the book together, while Principal Mr Brendan Hanamy added that it was a mammoth task to undertake, one Ms Higgins did not shy back from. He said the book grew from small beginnings to the comprehensive record it is today.

Ms Higgins thanked her pupils for their contributions – visiting people in their homes to get interviews or photographs and said the book would not have been possible without their enthusiasm.

She also thanked all who attended the launch, the patrons and sponsors, Fr Corbett for launching the book and Mr Brendan Hanamy and staff for their help and support. The book is available in local shops at E10.
