Deirdre Clune, Ireland South MEP, last week met with Stapleton’s bakery at the National Ploughing Championships and has praised the company as an example of how we can create local sustainable jobs in Tipperary.
“Stapleton’s now have a contract to supply Tesco’s and are going from strength to strength. This contract will allow Stapleton’s to avail of a wide distribution network across Ireland and the UK. It opens doors to the company to grow their business locally in Tipperary. Management are confident for the future of the business. These are the kinds of companies we have prioritised in our action plan for jobs. It is a family business which employs local Tipperary people. Stapleton’s are deeply embedded in the local community in Tipperary. I am meeting with the President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Werner Hoyer. I plan on raising the issue of SME finance and access to credit with him.”
