Tipperary Co-op sees profit rise despite turnover drop

Tipperary Co-op annual general meeting was told at its agm that turnover for 2012 was €138.8m, down by 6 per cent on 2011 levels. This was mainly due to lower selling prices for dairy products particularly during peak milk supply months.

ICSA urges review of ‘calendar farming’

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association has reiterated the urgent need to review the issue of ‘calendar farming’ in its submission on Ireland’s Nitrates Action Programme. Submissions on the issue were sought by the Departments of Agriculture and the Environment as part of the second review of the Action Programme.
