Munster Final Fever has gripped Ireland’s Hockey School of the Year, the multi-awards winning Ursuline Convent, Secondary School, Thurles, as the famed school’s Senior A team prepares to meet their old rivals, Crescent Comprehensive College, Limerick, in the Munster Final at Rockwell College, Cashel on Wednesday, March 6th.

In the Munster Semi Final Ursulines defeated Scoil Mhuire, Cork, 2-0 while Crescent beat Mount Mercy College, Cork, 3-1.

Squad’s rugby and horse racing links

The squad also has links with the sports of rugby and horse racing. Caroline Murtagh is Daughter of Jockey, Johnny Murtagh, and Becky Danaher is daughter of former Irish Rugby International, Philip Danaher. Anna Crotty and Kate Crotty are sisters

The Coaches are Eimear Cregan, Sandra Hedigan and Sandra Rossite. Eimear plays with Catholic Institute, Limerick, and Tramore native, Sandra Rossiter, who is based in Limerick, plays with Limerick Hockey Club as does Galbally lady, Sandra Hedigan.

The squad for the Senior A Cup final will be selected at the end of February. We hope to attend a special training session on Sunday, February 17th at the Ursuline grounds.
