Award-winning Tipperary-born writer Donal Ryan, author of ‘The Spinning Heart’ and ‘The Thing About December’, will talk about and read from his works in Ballyporeen Parochial Hall at 8 pm on January 24th followed by a question and answer session.

The evening will appeal to those interested in ideas, creativity and story telling.

This fundraising occasion is being organised in association with the Ballyporeen Community Council Events Committee. All proceeds from the evening will go towards the hall restoration fund.

Ballyporeen’s Community Centre (including the hall and ‘Reagan Centre’) was substantially renovated in 2013, with the aid of a grant from the South Tipperary Development Company and Ballyhoura Development Ltd, but further funding is still required.

The renewed Parochial Hall offers an extensive menu of classes, courses and events. It enhances people’s quality of life and strengthens the social and economic fabric of the area. Cláir Ní Aonghusa created this Community Project, with the support and encouragement of the Events Committee, while participating in a Landmark Leadership Programme in Dublin.
