The Anner hotel in Thurles was the place to be as Lauren Walsh was crowned Tipperary’s Rose of Tralee for 2014.

Lauren Walsh, originally from Tipperary town but now living in Dublin, is Head of Marketing at Ireland’s Leading Wedding Technology Specialists - Moposa.

Lauren was selected from 15 elegant ladies from all over the Premier County and is now going forward to represent Tipperary in the Irish Regional Finals at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel.

The night was a great success, hosted by TV3 weather man Deric Hartingan, who had the crowd in stitches for the night.

The regional finals are held in Portlaoise each year over the June Bank Holiday weekend and are a means to choose the six ladies from the 29 Irish counties that will appear at the international finals in Tralee. County Tipperary hasn’t reach the international festival finals since 2011.

The Tipperary centre coordinator Mr. Ciarán O’Connell said: “We would like to take this opportunity congratulate to Lauren the very best of luck, she will have a great year ahead. All this couldn’t have taken place without our sponsors. We want to give special thanks to Maureen Dorey Professional Make Up Artist (087 92214320, Hair By Stacey-Mobile Hairdressing (087 1439280) who did all the Roses’ hair and make up on the night , and To Create Image Corina for taking so many picture. Special thanks also to the Anner hotel and the Maher brothers. Thank you for being so accommodating all day and best of luck with the new venture. Finally a massive thank you to Aoife Shanley the 2013 Tipperary Rose for all her hard work and for being such a great ambassador and representative for Tipperary.”
