Nenagh conference examines the theme of Another Ireland

The second day of the upcoming Nenagh Weekend of Conversations, From Lockout to Bailout, examines the theme of Another Ireland. The event takes place on Saturday, September 28, in Nenagh Arts Centre.

It features North Tipperary native Prof Tom Collins, Professor Emeritus, NUI Maynooth. He will speak on the them, Creating the Spaces for Another Ireland to Emerge.

Peadar Kirby, Professor Emeritus of International Politics and Public Policy at the University of Limerick. and Mary P Murphy, lecturer in Irish Politics and Society at NUI Maynooth, will speak to the theme, Towards a Second Republic: Another Ireland.

The afternoon session is focused on Creating Another Ireland with a panel of speakers working at the coalface of community responses to the ongoing crises across Ireland. On the panel will be Rev Stephen Neill, Cloughjordan; Billy Kelly, Meitheal Mid–West; Cathleen O’Neill, Kilbarrack Community Development Project, Orla Tinsley, health campaigner and writer, along with a speaker from Borrisokane Community Forum.
