Culture Night is a unique night in the Irish calendar where you can experience the myriad of cultural possibilities your town has to offer for free.

The Culture Night initiative was launched in 2006 in Dublin by Temple Bar Cultural Trust (TBCT), to provide a new and imaginative way for people from all walks of life to participate in the cultural life of the city.

Since its inception, the event has grown year on year and in 2012 the event included 154 cultural organisations encompassing over 900 venues across 34 locations throughout the island Ireland making it the biggest and most extensive Culture Night to date. Participating locations included Ards (Co. Down), Armagh, Belfast, Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork City, Cork County, Derry – Londonderry, Dublin, Galway City, Galway County, An Ghaeltacht, Holywood, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim, Letterkenny, Limerick City, Limerick County, Louth, Mayo, Offaly, Navan, North Tipperary, Roscommon, Sligo, South Tipperary, Strabane District, Westmeath and Wexford, Wicklow.
