Terryglass Arts Festival has announced a diverse programme of workshops for this year’s festival, which runs from Wednesday, August 12, to Sunday, August 16
Featuring artists and craftspeople of both national and international renown, 70 workshops will be held over three days to provide a weekend bursting with fun filled entertainment for all the family.
From cupcake decorating to lantern making, Chinese calligraphy to starting your own blog, there is something for children and adults of all ages.
Festival highlights include the science workshops with a focus on learning through fun experiments and robotics where children will learn how to build robots in a creative and stimulating environment.
For the more artistic there is an opportunity to explore wet-in-wet techniques in watercolour with Rose Carty, woodturning with Thomas Adlum, while Joanna Williams from Little Bigtop will show the little ones how to play with their shadows and enjoy endless hours of fun.
Special visitors to the Terryglass Arts Festival this year are the heritage boats who once plied their trade throughout the inland waterways of Ireland. Retired since 1959, almost all of them have been preserved as cruising vessels and some are approaching 100 years old.
Tickets for all events are available to now from The Derg Inn Shop, Terryglass or phone 087-2181663 for information. The workshops cost from €5 to €18. For information email at firstname.lastname@example.org
