Clonmel World Music proudly presents Elephant Revival (USA) at the Raheen House Hotel Clonmel on Tuesday, January 28th.
Clonmel World Music is back for its fifth year of bringing great bands to Tipperary.
Renowned as one of the most uplifting live bands on the American roots music circuit, Elephant Revival will make their first-ever visit to Europe and Clonmel World Music is proud to host their ever first Irish gig.
This is the fourth year in-a-row for a Clonmel tie-in gig with the famous Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland.
This band has become one of the most in-demand Stateside touring ensembles, performing in one some of the country’s most prestigious venues and appearing at every major festival due to the following they now have.
Elephant Revival are a folk music group from Nederland, Colorado, formed in 2006 and to date they have released four albums.
The five members of Elephant Revival are Sage Cook (banjo, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, bass and fiddle); Bridget Law (fiddle, octave fiddle); Bonnie Paine (washboard, djembe, musical saw, stompbox); Daniel Rodriguez (guitar, banjo, bass); and Dango Rose (double-bass, mandolin, banjo). All share vocals and write songs.
The quintet can be seen delving into Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk pieces, traditional ballads, psychedelic country, indie rock, powerful reggae grooves, 40s/50s jazz standards and an occasional hip-hop beat amongst other styles.
Elephant Revival’s latest album release “These Changing Skies” was voted number one in the listeners poll for USA’s National Public Radio’s Folk Alley best albums of 2013 and The Americana Music Association has placed ‘These Changing Skies’ in their top one hundred albums of the year.
Doors for the Elephant Revival gig will open at 8pm.
There will be no support act, and the band will start at 9pm sharp.
