North Tipperary, along with the rest of the country, will be brimming with free live music events to celebrate love:live music, Ireland’s National Music Day on June 21st. This day-long celebration of music in Ireland will see musicians stage free live music events across the country.
Highlights in North Tipperary include: “Music in the Workplace” which will take place in the Civic Offices, Nenagh. Musicians amongst the staff and members of North Tipperary Local Authorities will provide live lunch time music and entertainment from 1pm. All are welcome. Thurles Community Choir in association with The Source Arts Centre, Thurles will entertain audiences with their beautiful singing on the Boardwalk at The Source from 1.15pm. Tara Lee and the Munster Music Academy are performing in Quay Arts, Ballina from 5.30pm.
Comhaltas groups across North Tipperary are hosting a number of Love: Live Trad events. Ormond Comhaltas are planning an outdoor trad session to take place outside Nenagh Arts Centre in Banba Square from 3.30pm. Ormond Comhaltas are also hosting a Quay Side Event in Ballina between Molly’s & Flanagan’s in the early evening. Oiche Ceoil hosted CCÉ Chill Shléibhe will take place in the parish hall, Killea from 5-7pm. Members of Roscrea CCE will perform at Damer House and Castle Complex between 7.30pm and 9pm.
