The Corn Potato String Band will feature in a live show at The Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Friday, June 27th at 8pm.
The Corn Potato String Band are led by ace old-time fiddler Aaron Jonah Lewis - the Corn Potato String Band can tear it up with the absolute best young old-time bands out there with their fresh take on traditional American music.
All members of the band are award-winning multi-instrumentalists and they present an exciting variety of traditional American folk music from Appalachian fiddle and banjo breakdowns and ballads to Southern gospel, country rags, and innovative twin fiddling and double banjo tunes at all their shows.
Their last international tour took them to India where the Hindustan Times hailed their “power-packed performance” and the Times of India welcomed the band as a unique slice of American culture.
Every show with these amazing musicians is a lively toe tappin’ enjoyable experience. In a nutshell the mission of the Corn Potato String Band is not only to entertain, but to express diverse musical cultures using traditional string band instruments: fiddle, banjo and guitar and to ‘be many bands’ as a trio of multi-instrumentalists. They may play with the traditional line up of fiddle, banjo and guitar or two fiddles and banjo, two banjos and guitar or other combinations, what we do know is that you will not regret a night with the Corn Potatoes!
The Corn Potato String Band feature at The Source on Friday, June 27th at 8pm. Tickets priced at €15 (€12 concession).
