Ireland’s best-known songwriter to headline at the Terryglass Arts Festival this August

One of Ireland’s foremost songwriters Jimmy MacCarthy has been announced as the headline act for this year’s Terryglass Arts Festival which runs from Wednesday, August 13th to Sunday, August 17th.

One of Ireland’s foremost songwriters Jimmy MacCarthy has been announced as the headline act for this year’s Terryglass Arts Festival which runs from Wednesday, August 13th to Sunday, August 17th.

MacCarthy will bring his sell-out ‘Prophecy/ Conspiracy?’ tour to Terryglass Church on Friday, August 15th for what promises to be a magical and unforgettable evening of musical treats.

Jimmy has worked with major Irish artists such as Christy Moore, Mary Black, Mary Coughlan and Maura O’Connell and released four albums of his own,

Jimmy’s ‘Prophecy/Conspiracy?’ tour pays homage to old favourites such as ‘Neidin’ while introducing more recent work such as ‘Andalucian Gray’, and ‘Children of Mile’.

Festival Chairperson Andrea Egan said: “Jimmy has a universal appeal to all ages and backgrounds and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening of music and song”.
