The New Theatre presents ‘The Assassination of Brian Boru’ at The Source Arts Centre on Friday, May 8th at 8pm.

Brian Boru was assassinated at the battle of Clontarf 1014 - this plays tells a very personal tale about a brotherly bond, but it also captures a seminal event in Irish history. It’s a story of brotherhood, blood, ravens on the battle field and the death of a great king.

Two brothers of conflicting ideals sail to Ireland to defeat the High King Brian Boru. Over the course of the journey they part enemies, and meet again on opposite sides of the battlefield. Brodir and Ospak are respected warriors, two brothers of vastly different temperament who have fought side by side in many battles throughout their lives.
