Under the guidance of accomplished director Gerry Bergin and Gerry McAuliffe, ‘Wake in the West’ will open on Saturday 23rd, and continue Sunday 24th and Wednesday 27th in the local community hall.
The story centres on the death and wake of Tom Healy (Sean Delaney), a man whose fondness for alcohol is renowned. Not content with drinking himself to death, Tom makes a last request to be buried in the drink (at sea). This creates havoc in his house and in his local community, with some believing he is not entitled to his wishes. The show will commence at 8.15pm sharp each night. Admission is €10 per adult and €5 per child and there will be tickets for a raffle and excellent prizes at half time. There have been a lot of enquiries thus far, so booking is advisable. This can be done by contacting Byrnes shop where Ann or Kevin will make sure you have the best seat in the house possible. Phone number – 0505 45208.
