Huge crowd expected to attend the Upperchurch-Drombane GAA ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fundraising event

Upperchurch-Drombane GAA club are the latest to embrace the Strictly Come Dancing craze and the Dome in Semple Stadium should not disappoint dancing enthusiasts on Saturday night as the performers on show have two months of intense training behind them under the guidance of dance instructor Derleen Cleary.

The local people of Upperchurch are anticipating a great night out as dancers will showcase their talents. Fifteen couples will start the opening routine.

A special dance floor has been installed in the Dome to ensure participants are fully equipped to perform to best of their abilities.

The show will extend beyond the boundaries of the parish as dancers from neighbouring parishes with local connections such as Paddy Ó Mahoney from Ballycahill and Kate Butler from Templetuohy will ensure a bumper attendance.

With in excess of 700 tickets already sold it is evident that the locals are getting geared up for the night.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the dance off begins at 8.30pm. Silver Dollar will provide the entertainment following the show. Tickets are €20 each and votes can be bought on the night should you be swayed by any particular couple.
